The muted color palette made this one of the more monochromatic designs of all the Barbie homes. Columns and arches were, however, entirely pink.
Azusa Sakamoto is not like most girls. This 34-year-old woman, originally from Japan, has spent $70,000 on Barbie home furnishings and accessories. She currently owns countless Barbie items, including 145 dolls, 40 pairs of shoes and 60 bags. Azusa said she fell in love with the doll after she bought her first Barbie lunchbox when she was 15. I had one of those when I was like five but to each their own.
Both the dreamhouse and the townhouse offer lots of fun playtime with Barbie and her friends. It is great to have the option between two homes for Barbie. Some girls may prefer the 3 story townhouse more than a 2 story dreamhouse. Many girls may prefer a home that looks more like their own home – so if they live in an apartment or a house, they will choose the Barbie home that represents this best.
The dreamhouse seems a bit more old-fashioned compared to the more modern townhouse. There are no lights or sounds like the other Barbie home. Girls also familiar with big cities may want a townhouse more.
