  • This cookbook is classic and has educated aspiring young chefs for decades (the first edition was published in 1955). One of the several editions of this cookbook was actually MY first cookbook way back when and it is still one of my favorite cookbooks for kids. The most current edition is full of bright colored photos and fun cartoon characters. The New Junior Cookbook teaches kids how to read and prepare a recipe, how to properly measure different ingredients, eat balanced meals, kitchen and food safety and different kitchen terms. Each recipe has the ingredients and tools listed separately from the step by step directions, nutritional information, dietary exchanges, and full color photos of the completed recipes. Recipes include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts, party food and cater to different cooking abilities.

I love to cook with my kids. We have some of the best times together in the kitchen. Check out these fantastic cookbooks for kids for some great recipes to get cookin’ with your favorite little people!

  • Choose from various cookbooks for kids and show them how enjoyable cooking can be. You can make cookies and cakes with them (all kids love this!) or teach them how to make a basic omelet or spaghetti dish, using kids’ cookbooks for assistance. Teach older kids how to chop vegetables and let younger ones stir the batter. When picking out cookbooks for kids, go for something aimed at the right age group. An older child with a basic knowledge of cooking and ingredient preparation techniques can cook a meal for the family. A younger one can be taught that cooking is fun and easy, and something that everyone can help out with.

Cookbooks for kids are a great idea for the little helpers around your kitchen. Giving your kids their very own cookbook is a good way to get them started with cooking, and to introduce them to the fun which can be had in the kitchen.

  • I absolutely love cooking with children! Not only is it a great bonding activity, but it also promotes at the same time. I’m a firm believer in preparing healthy foods with kids, so when I set out to review cookbooks for kids, this remained at the top of my critique list.
