In recent weeks, the U.S. CPSC has become aware that about 200,000 of the bassinets made by Simplicity, Inc. had been sold with a Graco logo between 2001 and 2004 as part of a licensing agreement with Graco Children’s Products. Some of the bassinets were also sold between 2002 and 2008 with a “Winnie the Pooh” motif that was licensed from Disney Consumer Products
The affected cribs include the following models: Aspen 3 in 1, Aspen 4 in 1, Nursery-in-a-Box, Crib N Changer Combo, Chelsea and Pooh 4 in 1. The recall also involves Simplicity cribs Aspen 3 in 1, Ultra 3 in 1, Ultra 4 in 1, Ultra 5 in 1, Whitney and the Trio using the Graco logo.
The crib, sold as “Aspen 3 in 1 Cribs” with Graco logos were recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Dec. 21, 2005, after the manufacturer, Simplicity Inc., received 14 reports of mattress supports becoming loose, including eight reports of entrapment and five injuries.
The model number, date of manufacture and “Stork Craft Manufacturing (USA) Inc.” are printed on white federal label attached to the white mattress cover. The mattresses’ box has a Graco logo.
