  • We purchased another similar hook on chair for comparison to the Chicco Caddy Hook On Chair, but there was no comparison. The Chicco fits almost any table and is much more sturdy than the more expensive chair we compared it to. It also has much better back and bottom support. We have a toddler and infant so kitchen space is limited for bulky hi-chairs. We have two of these hooked on our breakfast bar so the boys can eat together. Very easy to take apart and wash the cover, which cleans up to look brand new. We did order extra covers for each of the chairs as we have very messy eaters and mom doesn’t have time to do laundry everyday! Our only complaint is there is a small gap between the seat and the counter, so a lot of food will end up on the floor. The other brand also had a gap. We just have to sweep after every meal which is far better than scrubbing the nooks and crannies of the bulky hi-chairs.

We use a peninsula type counter for our eating area. The Chico Caddy Hook on chair has been bery convenient for our purposes. It hooks onto our counter and our baby loves it. No bulky chair. Only wish there was a snap on tray to bridge the gap between the chair and baby.

  • We started researching hook on high chairs after using one in a tiny restaurant in Hawaii. We wanted something similar - folded flat for storage when we traveled, had a washable cover and straps, and had a high enough weight limit that it would last a good long time. We bought this chair and love it! Our old Fisher Price chair was hard plastic with a detachable tray and required a dedicated dining chair to be strapped to, eliminating using that chair for guests. That chair also required the rather tedious task of unthreading the straps when the chair needed to be cleaned and then all of the pieces, base, straps, and tray had to be handwashed. With this chair, none of that! We just unsnap a couple of snaps and toss in the washer! We also have an extra chair for dinner guests and our little guy gets to sit at table level with us, which he thoroughly enjoys, vs sitting almost a foot lower with our FP chair! Already recommending it to our friends!

We used his hook on high chair at a family member's house once, and that one time was enough for me to never consider buying this seat for our own house. The seat was a bit fussy to attach it to the counter, and I have concerns about using this for a heavier baby with a regular table. I think the weight of the baby on one side of the table might be enough to tip certain tables. We used it attached to a bar/counter for this reason. Having our daughter smear her food all over the actual counter was not ideal, I definitely prefer a removeable and easy to clean tray. Finally, the chair is covered in fabric that is incredibly difficult to clean, you would need to machine wash it after every single meal, not feasible when you are feeding three meals a day! I prefer the no fabric IKEA high chair for just this reason.

I would not recommend this chair with larger babies.

Needing machine washing after every single meal means this chair cover is going to wear out quickly!

There is no logical reason for a high chair to be covered in fabric.

The Chicco Travelseat hook on chair is a great option for folks that travel a lot, or for those that simply don't have a lot of room for a bulkier more traditional high chair in their dining area. Although we did have a regular high chair at the dinner table, we used this portable chair at the breakfast bar clamped right onto the countertop. It was great place to keep my baby while I was cooking dinner or doing kitchen work.

While the chair itself is very sturdy, you have to be careful that the table you're hooking it onto is also sturdy.

It's easy to hook this high chair onto the side of a table (we used it at a local campsite picnic table), or even at a breakfast bar. It's also easy to remove, and clean. Getting your child in and out isn't a problem either.

While the high chair itself is safe, there were a few occasions where the table we were hooking it onto wasn't stable enough. If you weren't paying attention, there's a chance an unsteady table could topple over.

Ease of Cleaning
I loved how easy this is to clean, which is important because at a dinner table, things like this can get pretty messy very quickly.
