Defective products that carry a fire hazard are dangerous for both the home and the consumer. This month, a few recalls have been issued for these types of products. due to a high burning flame that poses a fire and burn hazard. Similarly, Toys R Us recently recalled about 7,400 remote-controlled helicopters because of the risk of the battery overheating and posing a fire and burn hazard.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Wal-Mart Stores and Toys R Us have recalled 21,000 inflatable water slides that pose the risk of serious injury or death. The slides in question are Banzai in-ground pool water slides. The were sold between January 2005 and June 2009 for about $250. At least one 29-year-old woman died after fracturing her neck going down a slide which had been placed over the concrete edge of a pool. The victim hit her head at the bottom of the slide because it had partially deflated. The recalled slides were manufactured in China by Manley Toys and sold at Walmart and Toys R Us.
